Regeneration
By gradually incorporating the principles of permaculture into the farm, we have created more space for nature, improved biodiversity, improved soils, improved water quality and water management and improved farm efficiency.
Regenerative Land Management
Often we made these changes in the early years because it felt like the right thing to do. After Will completed his Level 3 and 4 Regenerative Land Management with Marina O’Connell, Bob Mayhew and Rachel Phillips at The Apricot Centre, Dartington in 2023. It was also reassuring to understand that work we have undertaken on farm, since 2003, aligned to this way of farming and now with the knowledge of the science behind these practices, it has encouraged us to do more.
Education
During these courses Will would often return to discuss what he had learnt and seen on visits, and we would usually say – ‘we already do that’ or ‘we’ve done that’.
Tan studied Environmental Science alongside her A Level’s and has since taken the L3 Certificate in Agroecological System Design and is currently studying for her Permaculture Design Certificate “PDC”.
Whilst attending these courses, we have had the opportunity to also benefit from the wealth of knowledge, from some amazing tutors such as Minni Jain and Philip Franses. Authors of The Language of Water.
