Back in March with had the pleasure of being visit Back in March with had the pleasure of being visited by Prof Dan Hill leading the South Devon Design Lab for their @futureobservatory part of the @designmuseum London. We both talked about the regenerative farming practices we have been putting in place since 2003. We focused on the water management work we have done over the last 2 years with @westcountryrivers to hold the water on farm for longer giving it time to percolate back into the water table. John Hunt also joined us to go through a fantastic project called Water Net Gain. The team had a busy 3 days across south Devon starting at @realideasorganisation in Plymouth. Read all about it here. https://futureobservatory.org/news/south-devon-design-lab-uk2040-1
Grazing the herbal ley in the shadows of the hedge Grazing the herbal ley in the shadows of the hedge trees. Our cows are out all year except when it’s too wet or too hot - got to protect the soils and look after the girls. On hot days like this they are out overnight and then can wander in and out to suit themselves during the day. They like have shade be that a shadow or a shed. All water troughs have been checked for good supplies of fresh water and no leaks! #grazingcows #porshamfarm #dairycows #devonfarming #hotweather
